JB-300 Series

Description:

The JB-300 is a unique three-phase inverter, which can be supplied with a DC bus, a single phase or three-phase line. The inverter provides a Variable Block Modulation (VBM) output. This control scheme allows the inverter to use the full potential of the IGBT's, by reducing the usually high switching losses. The JB300 can be setup for single or three-phase output, with frequencies up to 10,000 cycles per second.

Six Step Block Modulation:

Using the (VBM) scheme the JB-300 can in utilize the maximum potential of each switching device. Conventional PWM drives typically have switching frequencies up to 10 kHz, introducing large switching losses, that can de-rate the inverter’s potential output by as much as 50 percent.

The following example shows actual (VBM) charts from a JB-300, programmed as a 48-state machine, with rated frequency of 60 Hz. Once the frequency reaches 60 Hz the line to neutral output is at full voltage. From the 60 Hz frequency on up the inverter is in a constant power mode. Other state machine 6, 12 and 24 are also available. Rated frequencies can be set from 1 Hz to as much as 10 kHz.
